Types by Number of Arms (Fitting Configurations)

Spider fittings are classified by the number of arms or legs they use to connect glass panes:

  • Single-Arm Spider Fittings: Feature a single arm and are used at the edges or corners of a single glass panel.

  • Double-Arm Spider Fittings: Feature two arms designed to connect two adjacent glass panels in a line or corner configuration.

  • Three-Arm Spider Fittings: Feature three arms used to join three glass panels together, often at T - junctions.

  • Four-Arm Spider Fittings: Feature four extending arms that connect four separate glass panels at a single point (the most common type for large glass facades).

Types by Supporting Structure

Spider glazing systems are also categorized by the structural element that carries the dead load and wind pressure of the glass.

  • Spider Glazing with Glass Fins: Uses vertical, high-strength toughened or laminated glass fins (typically 10mm to 19mm thick) instead of metal columns to provide transparent structural support.

  • Spider Glazing Using Stainless Steel or Mild Steel (MS) Trusses / Frames: Uses slender vertical and horizontal steel pipes, columns, or I - beams to supportive spider hardware and large glass elevations.

  • Cable-Supported (Tension Rod/Net) Spider Glazing: Uses pre-tensioned stainless steel cables or suspension rods in a net geometry to hold the glass with a nearly invisible, lightweight framework.

Spider Fittings come in 304 (standard grade) & 316 (marine grade) Stainless Steel.

The standard size is 250mm other on request.
